 | | | | | | | | Time for Action | | | Bah. Seeing a great community of members only resort to Xfire as a means of communication depresses me. We have this great site setup by Tim, and all this hosting space. And none of it is being used(Except by me to show people my awesome desktops )
Previous time's we thought that simply posting a "We ain't dead" news post bi-annualy might work. But it didn't. Then we thought that the little shoutbox might work, it didn't.
So...I'm not gonna lie saying that I had no time to look at this site, and maintain it(Because when you don't handle bot spam as soon as it happens, it just gets worse. Poor Tim had to clean it up ). I did have exams, but they are over now. And my new year will be extra-tough, but I like a challenge.
So, without further nonsense....I present some "Ideas" that may help make this community, more community-like.
- "Normal" Blogs - Previously we had "Gaming Blogs", were we solely talked about things to do with games, mods, or the website itself. This is where extraordinary people talk about their extraordinary life.
- Game Reviews - It sorta struck us that we are aiming to be a Gaming Collective, who aim to share knowledge of great games, and games you should avoid...and we haven't got a review section! Alas, we are not going to review massive games like Metal Gear Solid 4, 2 days after release. There will be plenty of games that you know are good, and we don't need to tell you that. We will try and review the ones, not so known. Prehaps(And probably even more than games themselves) we will review(total conversion) mods.
And by TRY, we mean...you TRY. Me and Tim can post ourselves, but the whole community will need to start getting more involved, seperating from Xfire and using the forums instead.Posted by Sudo on Saturday 14 June 2008 - 19:00:06 | Read/Post Comment: 0 | | | | | | | | | | The Red and White Box | | | Another year goes by in an instant, It's been a great year for Soulbreakers, with the forums getting a huge revamp thanks to the MbR(Thieves Legacy) members, we thank you all for your commitment and great support
We have much to look forward to next year, the modding branch is now concentrating on ut3, and are looking to get some work flowing in a new engine. We are always recruiting more and more influential people to help Soulbreakers be even better, and a new stockpile of glorious games to look forward to over-playing.
Again, a huge thank to Uruk-Hai for all his help, the forums are now much more active with you and your members, congratulations on the new guild

So from all the Soulbreakers team, Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year! Posted by Sudo on Thursday 20 December 2007 - 12:58:49 | Read/Post Comment: 1 | | | | | | | | | | Old site, new host | | | Well, sorry for that delay - we said Sunday, and the site is online on Monday.
What happened? Well, it took a while to upload the files, and we had to do a backup of our database, but couldn't find a proper application, and the old host didn't even have PhpMyAdmin! We found a thing called PhpMyBackup, which does backups of a database. We did a backup, transferred it to the new server and restored the backup. The website had moved flawlessly.
In short, we're off better now, fresh and ready to continue!
And by the way, our new domain is soulbreakers.com. Posted by Tim on Monday 11 December 2006 - 09:13:51 | Read/Post Comment: 1 | | | | | |
