ROSE Online, Rush On Seven Episodes, Is a MMORPG with a very anime / fantasy look and feel. Developed by Triggersoft and published by Gravity. It has gone through several different release versions, naROSE, jROSE and ROSE Evo.
Unfortunatly, to start the review on a bad note, it's not a game worth its monthly subscription. The suppoRt isn't very well laid oUt, it's quite an old game, and there is no Features that make you Feel as if you should be paying for it. Compared to other MMO's, don't be expecting to be diving into this game and crying at the storyline. It has a very anime theme, with silly characters and a childish storyline. I stopped following the storyline after level 15, and I can tell you, thats a low level, and hardly into the story yet. You will go through a vast part of the game feeling like you are inferior to many people. And you are! But most importantly it has a community that are exactly thinking the same thing as you. "WTF is this game and why am I loving it?"
The character creation isn't revolutionary, you get to choose from a preset of hairsets, and colours and a gender(Of your character, not your hair, silly). I like the game because unlike every other MMORPG I've played, you can choose your class as you go through, and narrow it down into a specific build as you go on. So at the start when you are unsure of what you want to be, you can try a variety of different classes until you find one that suits you. The choices are:
Muse
-Hysterically, and Endlessly hard to solo with. This is the main magic class, later on this gets divided into Cleric or Mage. Cleric is a support class, with great buffs. And a Mage is a powerful spell caster. But if you get used to the endless "Buff me please", you ought to be Feeling Good with this choice.
Soldier
-The main tank, damage dealer, and dirty-hands class. This class doesn't get much more difficult than click an enemy, and make sure you don't die. This class gets subclassed later on into a defensive Knight, or a powerful Champion.
Dealer
-If you really want to set your laptop running for serveral weeks, hoping someone will buy your wooden sword for 1,000,000 Zulie(ROSE currency), join the club. Class gets better drops, more rare items, and can later be subclassed into an item crafting Artisan, or a money making Bourgeous.
Hawker
-Fast, mysterious, ranged weapon assassins. Along with a Muse, can wear wings to increase movement speed. Class gets later subclassed into a bow wielding Scout, or a knuckle dusting Raider.
The main form of transport is by foot, with no teleporation systems. After you reach level 50, you can drive your own 4 wheeled cart. The coolest cart ever, I must say.
Don't expect magnificent visuals, your characters will look a bit like Chibi's. But if you're looking for something new, and so are your friends, this is a candidate.
